पर सम्राजं चर्षणीनामिन्द्रं सतोता नव्यं गीर्भिः |
नरं नर्षाहं मंहिष्ठम

English:- . PRAISE Indra whom our songs must laud, sole Sovran of mankind, the Chief

यस्मिन्नुक्थानि रण्यन्ति विश्वानि च शरवस्या |
अपामवोन समुद्रे
English:- In whom the hymns of praise delight, and all the glory-giving songs.

तं सुष्टुत्या विवासे जयेष्ठराजं भरे कर्त्नुम |
महो वाजिनं सनिभ्यः
English:- Him I invite with eulogy, best King, effective in the fight,
Strong for the gain of mighty spoil.

यस्यानूना गभीरा मदा उरवस्तरुत्राः |
हर्षुमन्तःशूरसातौ
English:- Whose perfect ecstasies are wide, profound, victorious, and give
joy in the field where heroes win.

तमिद धनेषु हितेष्वधिवाकाय हवन्ते |
येषामिन्द्रस्ते जयन्ति
English:- Him, when the spoils of war are staked, men call to be their advocate:

तमिच्च्यौत्नैरार्यन्ति तं कर्तेभिश्चर्षणयः |
एषैन्द्रो वरिवस्क्र्त
English:- Men honour him with stirring songs and magnify with solemn rites:
Indra is he who giveth case.

इन्द्रो बरह्मेन्द्र रषिरिन्द्रः पुरू पुरुहूतः |
महान महीभिः शचीभिः
English:- Indra is priest and Ṛṣi, he is much invoked by many men,
And mighty by his mighty powers.

स सतोम्यः स हव्यः सत्यः सत्वा तुविकूर्मिः |
एकश्चित्सन्नभिभूतिः
English:- Meet to be lauded and invoked, true Hero with his deeds of might,

तमर्केभिस्तं सामभिस्तं गायत्रैश्चर्षणयः |
इन्द्रं वर्धन्ति कषितयः
English:- The men, the people magnify that Indra with their Slina. songs,

परणेतारं वस्यो अछा कर्तारं जयोतिः समत्सु |
सासह्वांसं युधामित्रान
English:- Him who advances them to wealth, sends light to lead them in the war,
And quells their foemen in the fray.

इन्द्रो विश्वा अति दविषः
English:- May he, the saviour much-invoked, may Indra bear us in a ship

English:- As such, O Indra, honour us with gifts of booty, further us,
