शरेष्ठं यविष्ठ भारताग्ने दयुमन्तमा भर |
वसो पुरुस्प्र्हं रयिम

English:- . VASU, thou most youthful God, Bhārata, Agni, bring us wealth,
Excellent, splendid, much-desired.

मा नो अरातिरीशत देवस्य मर्त्यस्य च |
पर्षि तस्या उतद्विषः
English:- Let no malignity prevail against us, either God's or man's.

अति गाहेमहि दविषः
English:- So through thy favour may we force through all our enemies a way,
As 'twere through streaming water-floods.

तवं घर्तेभिराहुतः
English:- Thou, Purifier Agni, high shinest forth, bright, adorable,

अष्टापदीभिराहुतः
English:- Ours art thou, Agni, Bhārata, honoured by us with barren cows,
