1 पर यह जान रख, कि अन्तिम दिनों में कठिन समय आएंगे।
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 क्योंकि मनुष्य अपस्वार्थी, लोभी, डींगमार, अभिमानी, निन्दक, माता-पिता की आज्ञा टालने वाले, कृतघ्न, अपवित्र।
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 दयारिहत, क्षमारिहत, दोष लगाने वाले, असंयमी, कठोर, भले के बैरी।
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 विश्वासघाती, ढीठ, घमण्डी, और परमेश्वर के नहीं वरन सुखविलास ही के चाहने वाले होंगे।
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 वे भक्ति का भेष तो धरेंगे, पर उस की शक्ति को न मानेंगे; ऐसों से परे रहना।
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 इन्हीं में से वे लोग हैं, जो घरों में दबे पांव घुस आते हैं और छिछौरी स्त्रियों को वश में कर लेते हैं, जो पापों से दबी और हर प्रकार की अभिलाषाओं के वश में हैं।
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 और सदा सीखती तो रहती हैं पर सत्य की पहिचान तक कभी नहीं पहुंचतीं।
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 और जैसे यन्नेस और यम्ब्रेस ने मूसा का विरोध किया था वैसे ही ये भी सत्य का विरोध करते हैं: ये तो ऐसे मनुष्य हैं, जिन की बुद्धि भ्रष्ट हो गई है और वे विश्वास के विषय में निकम्मे हैं।
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 पर वे इस से आगे नहीं बढ़ सकते, क्योंकि जैसे उन की अज्ञानता सब मनुष्यों पर प्रगट हो गई थी, वैसे ही इन की भी हो जाएगी।
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
10 पर तू ने उपदेश, चाल चलन, मनसा, विश्वास, सहनशीलता, प्रेम, धीरज, और सताए जाने, और दुख उठाने में मेरा साथ दिया।
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
11 और ऐसे दुखों में भी जो अन्ताकिया और इकुनियुम और लुस्त्रा में मुझ पर पड़े थे और और दुखों में भी, जो मैं ने उठाए हैं; परन्तु प्रभु ने मुझे उन सब से छुड़ा लिया।
11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 पर जितने मसीह यीशु में भक्ति के साथ जीवन बिताना चाहते हैं वे सब सताए जाएंगे।
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 और दुष्ट, और बहकाने वाले धोखा देते हुए, और धोखा खाते हुए, बिगड़ते चले जाएंगे।
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 पर तू इन बातों पर जो तू ने सीखीं हैं और प्रतीति की थी, यह जानकर दृढ़ बना रह; कि तू ने उन्हें किन लोगों से सीखा था
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 और बालकपन से पवित्र शास्त्र तेरा जाना हुआ है, जो तुझे मसीह पर विश्वास करने से उद्धार प्राप्त करने के लिये बुद्धिमान बना सकता है।
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 हर एक पवित्रशास्त्र परमेश्वर की प्रेरणा से रचा गया है और उपदेश, और समझाने, और सुधारने, और धर्म की शिक्षा के लिये लाभदायक है।
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 ताकि परमेश्वर का जन सिद्ध बने, और हर एक भले काम के लिये तत्पर हो जाए॥
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
